I purchased a Serta Mattress Set 22 months ago and I am having to replace it, and Serta is not my new choice. I contacted Serta and the rep. only offered to replace this bad mattress with a new, same quality mattress, no refund. This is the worst mattress I've ever tried to sleep on. I sept on a Sealy posturapedic for 20 yrs before having to replace it then purchased a Lady Englander for 9 yrs. This 22 month old Serta has given me more bad nights than my 20 yr old Sealy.Guess what! I'm goning back to Sealy.

We purchased a king-sized Perfect Day (top of the line EUROTOP) mattress April 2008 and were EXTREMELY happy and comfortable until we noticed the Eurotop section on my husband's side was shifting away from the edge causing him to hang on in order not to roll off! Serta sent an inspector and there was no question that the 5" shift indicated a manufacturer's defect. Unfortunately that model was no longer available, but they agreed to send the replacement model which was a few dollars more. We have now spent 2 weeks sleeping on the new mattress and experiencing every one of the complaints I'm reading on this site - mountains in the middle, sore back in the morning, my 275 husband sleeping a good foot below me with mountin in the middle. We literally climb this "mountain" to kiss each other good night!! Turns out they sent us a Perfect Day Mega Eurotop, but the "Ultra Cushion Top" model which is a total contradiction in itself!

We have just started the process to have someone come out again, however I'm not holding my breath as I was told "we chose and approved the replacement model!" I will keep you posted on failure or success to get through to Serta.

You didn't mention what the specific problem with the mattress is so I will try to help with some general suggestions.

If the mattress is showing unusual wear and the rep has offered to replace it then I would recommend taking the replacement. Occasionally a single product will be defective, manufacturers don't replace products they expect to be defective because it costs too much. The fact that they are willing to replace it indicates their faith in the product overall.

If you just don't find the mattress comfortable then you should get a different model. But remember, Serta can pick out the mattress for you. It's a personal decision. If the product is defective that's their fault and they need to fix it. If you chose a mattress you don't find comfortable they won't pay for your mistake.

You may be able to get a store credit for the defective mattress and apply it towards a mattress that is more comfortable for you, which would be a win/win situation.

I hope this helps
